Hello! I am Mr. Southwick, I teach 8th grade Social Studies at Lebanon Junior High. I am excited to have your student in my class this year. Please, if you have any questions throughout the school year email me at anytime. I am very responsive using this method of contact.

You may want to know a little about me. First, I have a beautiful wife and two amazing boys, as you can see from our family photo. Both my wife and I are teachers, education is highly important in our family. This is my third year teaching and my second year teaching at Lebanon Junior High. Prior to my teaching career, I served as an Air Defense Artillery Officer in the U.S. Army. Your child will hear me speak occasionally about my time in service, I try to relate to my students the importance of the military to our nation. 

I became a teacher because of my wife's influence, she told me I would be good at it. Additionally, I truly love young teenagers, they are so much fun. Upon my completion of military service, I attended Columbia College in Columbia, MO and received my Masters of Teaching degree and went through theTeacher's Certification Program. My bachelor's I attained from Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, MO. I attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministry. I served as a Youth Pastor prior to my military service at First Baptist Church, Mount Vernon, MO.
